Re: Ishpeming Township Master Plan Public Review

The draft of the Ishpeming Township Master Plan (2026-2031) is now available for public review. The draft Master Plan is the result of more than three years of work by the Planning Commission, Township Staff, and Central UP Planning and Development (CUPPAD).

The objective of the Master Plan is to guide local leaders in decision making and future development in the Township. The plan will guide public policy and priorities in Forsyth Township over the next five years. On May 12, 2026, the Planning Commission and the Township Board approved the draft for public review. A 63-day public review period will begin on May 18, ending on July 20, 2026, per the requirements of the Michigan Planning Enabling Act. The draft 2026 Master Plan with goals and strategies for the Township can be found at the Township’s website (https://ishpemingtownship.com/), CUPPAD’s website (https://cuppad.org/) and a printed copy will be available at the township offices located at:

1575 US Highway 41, Ishpeming, Michigan 49849

The Ishpeming Township Planning Commission, Township Board, and CUPPAD will review all comments received, hold a public hearing following the close of the review period on July 20, and a vote on final approval will take place at this time.

Any comments and feedback can be directed to Community Planner, Emily Bosch at ebosch@cuppad.org, or by mailing written comments to:
